Medway wowed by ‘Into the Woods’

MEDWAY’S young people have been taking part in a flash fiction project and on Tuesday evening presented their work to a packed hall at Sun Pier house.

After attending the ‘Into the Woods’ event Councillor Vince Maple, Medway Labour Group Leader, was full of praise for the young people involved in the flash fiction project: ‘It was great to be able to hear the reading from some of our talented young people.  It was clear that this project, under Sarah’s leadership, has helped with confidence and writing skills.

It is also really welcome to see the five schools of Horsted, Oaklands, St Michaels, Swingate and Walderslade collaborating to make a project of this nature work.  My absolute congratulations to all involved’

The project has been led by local creative guru, Sarah Hehir, who spoke of her pride at the young people involved: ‘The young people’s enthusiasm for writing and performing was inspiring. These are the voices of the future: diverse, quirky and original! I’m so proud of them.
